Valmer Jack Goltry, age 87, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Hayward Health Services in Hayward, WI. He was born on April 8, 1937 in Detroit, MI, the son of Valmer and Carmen (Ammann) Goltry.
Jack had a successful career as a foreman for the Gilson Manufacturing Company in Port Washington, WI. He retired to the Northwoods where he enjoyed all the nature and animals, especially wolves. He also enjoyed Civil War history. Jack was incredibly creative and artistic. He had strong family values and was very religious. Jack was very kind and loved by everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his nephews, Jason (Shar) Gorud of Singapore, Eric (Tamera) Gorud of Eau Claire and James Gorud both of Eau Claire, WI; his great-nephew, Tristan Gorud of Rice Lake, WI; and his brother-in-law, James Gorud of Minong, WI.
In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his sister, Carmen Gorud.
A memorial service will be held for both Jack Goltry and Carmen Gorud from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the Hayward Funeral Home, 15571 W County Highway B in Hayward, WI. A time for sharing and reflection will be held at 3:30 P.M. Interment will be held at a later date in Kiel Cemetery in Kiel, WI.
