Bill Carnahan

1928 - 2022

May 20, 1928 - July 13, 2022 Bill Carnahan was born May 20, 1928 at his grandmother's home in Oklahoma City and moved to California in 1941. He worked with the LA County Road Department as a Surveyor from 1949 to 1984. He also worked the LA County Fair during the time the fair ran and full time with the Fair after he retired. Bill also worked with the NHRA at the Pomona drag strip. He joined the ARMY in 1948 and was a Supply Sergeant in the Korean War from 1950 to 1952. His daughter Diane was born in 1951 and passed away at the age of 4 from Leukemia. His son Steve was born in 1955 and passed away in 2014 of Cancer, and his son Scott was born in 1958. Bill spent many years coaching Steve and Scott in sports plus camping and waterskiing. When his grandkids arrived, Nichole, Stephanie, Kate and Cory, he was very dedicated to attending as many of their sporting and school events as possible while becoming an amazing, loving grandfather. Bill passed away very peacefully of natural causes July 13, 2022 at the age of 94. He was an incredible mentor, father, and grandfather to many. He had so many great friends and the loving memories are endless. Services and Interment, Aug 19, 10:00am at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA 92518.
