Donald Andrew Stabler

Donald Andrew Stabler, a loving and wonderful husband, father, brother, and educator, passed away on 10/30/2021. Born in Denver, Colorado, and raised in Lakewood, CO, he graduated from Alameda High School and was a proud member of the Westernaires mounted drill team. He attended UNC Greeley for undergraduate studies and moved to San Bernardino in 1967 where he started his career as an elementary school teacher. He also met his wife of 51 years, Susan Tajchman Stabler, at Mammoth Mountain ski resort. He obtained his Masters at CSU San Bernardino where he began his career in the school administration field in 1976 as a principal and had a son, Christopher Stabler. In 1982 he obtained an Ed. D in Educational Administration from the University of Southern California. He was a consultant for San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools from 1984-1989. He then worked at Moreno Valley USD where he was Assistant Superintendent of Support Services from 1989-1997. From 1997-2004 he was the Associate Superintendent of Business Services at Santa Ana USD. He retired as Deputy Superintendent of Torrance USD in 2016. He enjoyed cruising, vacations, boating on the Colorado river, his garden, his Denver Broncos and USC Trojan football and a cold Coors. Donald is survived by his wife, Susan Tajchman Stabler; son, Chris Stabler; brother, Lairie Stabler and his wife Katie; nieces Shannon Kindle and Robin Malara and brother in-law Larry Tajchman, and the countless many people he has taught and mentored over the years. Visitation will be at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel in San Bernardino on Nov. 29, 2021, from 4-7PM, with rosary being held at 6pm. Mass will be held at St. Adelaide Church in Highland, CA, at 11:00AM on November 30, 2021. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Redlands at 1pm.
