Earl Ringness Obituary

Earl William Ringness
February 6, 1922-December 13, 2015
Earl William Ringness was delivered safely into the loving arms of Jesus and reunited with his wife of 67 years, the love of his life Geneva, at the age of 93. Earl was preceded in death by his mother and father, Christian and Signe Ringnes; his brothers, Curtis and Roy; Sister, Anne Lotze; and grandson Jerry White. Earl is survived by his sister, Ruthe 'Babe' Troutman of Corona, CA; daughter Jeanie Stewart of Shorewood, WI; and son Dick (Sharon) Ringness of Stockton, CA; as well as his grandchildren, Allison Zarse, of Glendale, WI; Julie Bridges (Jim), of Ripon, CA; Stephanie Pennell (Greg) of Eden Prairie, MN; and Kim Hiltachk (Tom) of Sacramento, CA; along with his 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Earl was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN February 6, 1922. He graduated from Central High School and then moved to Southern California. He completed Skadron Business College in San Bernardino, CA and was a radio operator in the Army Airforce during WWII. Earl retired from Consolidated Electrical Distributors as western region credit manager. Earl and his wife Geneva were active, long term members of the First Assembly of God Church in San Bernardino, CA and later were members of Immanuel Baptist Church in Highland, CA. Earl and Geneva moved to Stockton in 2006 to be close to family where they attended Quail Lakes Baptist Church. Earl and Geneva took every opportunity to travel; their travels included Norway, Europe and the Hawaiian Islands. They included their family and friends on many of their traveling adventures, creating priceless memories to share with future generations. Earl was a long time active participant and Paul Harris Fellow in Rotary International, giving his time generously to causes he believed in.
Earl will always be remembered as a Christian man, filled to the brim with love for the Lord; a gentle man, with a kind spirit that always led by example. He was an exceptional Father, a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather, loving brother and a wonderful friend. We will miss him with all of our hearts and always be grateful that we were blessed to have had him in our lives. We will find comfort in knowing, as the Lord promised that we will meet again.
The family would like to thank O'Connor Woods Skilled Nursing and Meadowood Hospital for the exceptional and compassionate care they showed to Earl and the family during his stay with them.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, January 14, 2016. Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518.
Memorial Services for family and friends will be at 1:00pm on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Bobbitt's Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino, 92404.
Immediately following the Memorial Service, we will all gather for lunch at 2:00pm at Immanuel Baptist Church (Fellowship Hall), 28355 Baseline Street, Highland, CA, 92346. In lieu of flowers, you may make donations to your favorite charity, or help a needy family.

We did not know Earl personally - however, because of him we have Dick and Sharon in our lives. Bless him forever for this, and all he was to his family and friends.
