Dirk Anthony Ringness, age 61, of Blue Earth, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at United Hospital District in Blue Earth. A private memorial will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. There will be no visitation per family request.
Dirk was born on April 18, 1964 in Peoria, Illinois. He was the son of James and Judith (Metz) Ringness. He graduated from Spalding Institute in 1983. Following graduation, he served his country in the United States Air Force, stationed in Grand Forks, ND. He married Darla Hanson (Johnson) in 1985 and had 3 children. Dirk lived most of his adult life in Florida, near the Sarasota area until relocating to Minnesota to be closer to his family. Dirk enjoyed all things Chicago, especially their sports teams, along with Notre Dame sports. He always enjoyed a good bonfire. Dirk enjoyed going to his grandchildren's sports, dance, and school activities. When asked about his favorite times in his life, he mentioned time with his dog, Bonnie, and the births of his children and grandchildren. Dirk was a family man, dedicating his time to his mom, children, and grandchildren.
He is survived by his mother, Judith Ringness; daughters, LeAnn (Joshua) Carroll, Jamie (Tyler) Ringness, & Joseph (Kacey) Ringness; 6 granddaughters, Emma, McKenzie, Kailey, Ava, Aubree, and Addison; along with many fur grandbabies. He is preceded in death by his father, James Ringness along with his grandparents and uncles.
