Fredrick Stillions

1947 - 2021

April 11, 1947 - August 11, 2021 Age 74, a resident of Pomona, CA, passed away at his home and was surrounded by his loving family on August 11, 2021, an eight year lung transplant survivor. He was born on April 11, 1947 in Minnesota. He graduated from Smithville High School, Indiana. After the Marine Corp he married Bernice and went to Mt. Sac before transferring to Cal Poly Pomona where he graduated in 1974. Fred was a 37 year military man in both the Marines and, in 1975, he joined the National Guard, becoming the Soldier of the Year representing California in 1993. He retired from the Huntington Park PD in 2007 after his last deployment to the Afghan War. He was always working on inventions, and loved helping his children and grandchildren with their science projects. He enjoyed country music and spending time with family and friends, coaching and watching soccer games and was a lifetime Dodger fan. Fred is survived by his wife Bernice (Bernie) of almost 52 years, his son Tim and family: Kristen, Cassie, Berlyne and Max, and his daughter Amy Burchell and Family: Matt, Olivia and Stella, and his sister Janice Stillions. Fred was a wonderful, son, husband, father and grandfather. Fred had a big heart and would do anything for his family and friends. He will be missed dearly and will live in our hearts forever.
