John Russell Holsonbake

1935 - 2021

January 22, 1935 - August 11, 2021 John "Johnny" Russell Holsonbake, 86, of San Bernardino California, passed away peacefully of natural causes on August 11, 2021 at Loma Linda Hospital. The eldest son of James Holsonbake and Frances (White) Holsonbake, John was born January 22, 1935 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His family moved to San Bernardino when he was three years old. He attended San Bernardino High School where he met his wife of 37 years and mother of their four children, Shirley Heigl. John was a devoted father and worked tirelessly to provide for his family. His career's pride and joy were his years as the proprietor of "John's Family Billiards" and "American Recreation" where he combined his strong work ethic with his passion for the game of pool. Always a generous person, John's wish was to donate his body to science so that others could learn more about his particular physical challenges. John is lovingly remembered by his children Tamra Nogueroles (her husband Angel and her children Deborah, Scott, Aaron and AJ), Susan Holsonbake (her husband Jim and son Owen), and John Dean Holsonbake (his wife Christine and daughter Parker), his siblings Ann Miller and James Holsonbake, and his 11 great-grandchildren. John was predeceased by his daughter Karen Lynn, his mother Frances, his father James, and his sister Iris Lytle. A Celebration of Life service will be held March 19 at 11am in Anderson Hall at Valencia Lea, 3850 East Atlantic Ave., Highland, CA 92346.
