Manuel Moreno Obituary
Age 79, passed away on December 10, 2014. He was a lifelong resident of San Bernardino. He is survived by his wife Beverly of 57 years, two sons Rick (Wendy) of Highland, CA., Randy (Carol) of Grants Pass, Oregon, daughter Tracey Tarbaux (John) of Highland, CA., six grandchildren Richard, Andrew, Cody, Robbie, Adam and Hannah. Three great grandchildren Anthony, Luke, and Allison, and sister Diane Cuellar of Mira Loma, CA. He is preceded in death by two brothers David and Danny.
He served four years in the United States Navy and took part in the decommissioning of the Battleship U.S.S. Missouri. He was a graduate of San Bernardino Valley College. He worked 37 years for the City of San Bernardino, retiring in 1994 as the Director of Public Services. He enjoyed cooking for family and friends, gardening, hunting and fishing. He will be greatly missed by this extended family and all whom he called friend.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2014 from 4pm to 7pm following with a Catholic Rosary at 7pm at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel 1299 E. highland Ave., San Bernardino, CA 92404. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 7:30 am at Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral in San Bernardino following with a Graveside Service at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA.

I'm sorry we could not be there for the services. But we were there in spirit. Jr. You helped make a lot of memories for all of us. Your package ... The 4th of July. Your garden... Your ribs... The best ... Your smile and your grumpiness. You never scared me because you had a beautiful and big heart. We loved you and miss you! We shared a lifetime, more than a few war stories and a couple of beers in my short 13 years with the City. I especially remember our trip to Baja! I recall when I was at my brother's funeral mass with my family in El Monte and out of nowhere there was Junior with a hand on my shoulder. What an impact! Strong leader, big heart, Always there when you needed him. Most folks probably don't know how much he did for them and their city. He will be missed. My condolences to the family. Vaya con Dios Hermanito.
