Marian Brewer Obituary

April 5, 1927 - March 7, 2022 Marian Brewer, aged 94, of Mt. San Antonio Gardens in Pomona, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2022, at Mt. San Antonio Gardens in Pomona, Ca. Marian was born in Chicago, IL on April 5, 1927, to Edward and Florence Chambers. She was a graduate of Waller High School and DePaul University. In 1951, Marian moved with her sister, Phyllis, and her parents to Ontario, California. She taught school in Japan at the Yokota Air Force Base before starting in Chino where she taught for 40 years. Marian was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Beta Sigma Phi. She was also a member of Pomona First Baptist Church. Marian was married to Floyd Melvin Brewer for 37 years until his death in 1997. Many of Marian's fondest memories were of the many trips that she and Floyd took traveling around the globe including China and Egypt. Marian is survived by her sister Phyllis Battcher (Chambers), nephew Dwight Battcher and his wife Sheri, nephew Duane Battcher and his wife Kathy, niece Denise Hough (Battcher) and her husband Steven. A memorial service for Marian is planned for Sunday, April 3 at 11:00 a.m., at Mt. San Antonio Gardens located at 900 Harrison Ave, Pomona. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mt. San Antonio Gardens Garden Fund as Marian enjoyed seeing all the beautiful flowers and plants. In her words they were "scrumptious".
