Ralph Moody Obituary

RALPH MOODY died peacefully at home on February 19, 2008, surrounded by the love of his wife, Concepcion and his children, at the age of 87. Ralph Moody was born on February 8, 1921, in Savannah, Georgia, to James and Jennie Moody. In 1943, he was drafted by the Army and served his country in World War II. Among his tours of duty, he served in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He received several medals during his three years of service, including the Good Conduct medal, European-African-middle Eastern Campaign medal with three bronze service stars, World War II Victory medal, Honorable Service lapel button WWII, and a Marksman badge. He was honorably discharged on January 5, 1946. In 1946, Ralph traveled to Alaska where he worked for the government until 1956. In 1956 he purchased 200 acres in Brazil. He traveled down the West Coast and visited many cities along the way in the U.S. and Mexico. However, while visiting the town of Tehuantepec, Mexico, he met a beautiful young woman, Concepcion Reyna and fell in love. He would never make it to Brazil, but instead would sell his land to marry the love of his life. In 1957 he would move with his wife to San Bernardino County, California, where they made their home. He worked in construction and at Kaiser Steel before retirin g in 1985. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Concepcion; eight children, Maria Moody-Holguin (John), Juanita Gomez (Ray), Aracelia Ford, Ralph Moody (Jean), Aaron Moody, Errol Moody (Shaun), Yvonne Moody, and Yvette Alleyne (Philip); fifteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He reunites in heaven with his daughter, Aurora Moody, who died in 1978. Services will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at 12:00 P.M. at Mountain View Memorial Chapel in San Bernardino. In lieu of flowers, pleas e make donations to the American Legion or Veterans of Foreign Wars in memory of those who serve our country.

I would just like to express my heart felt condolences to the Moody family.I did not have the pleasure of knowing your Dad but he sounds like such a great man.I work at kaiser ,and Ralph is my boss but more importantly my friend.I can tell by Ralph that your Father and Mother have shown you the importance of a close family.
