Rosa M. Leyva

ROSA M. LEYVA, a 28 - year resident of Loma Linda, died Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at home, following an illness. She was 87. She was born June 14, 1921, in Jecori, Sonora, Mexico, and came to the United States in 1949, living in Arizona until she came to California in 1952, with h er family. She became a United State citizen October 22, 1993. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Loma Linda. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years of marriage, Rafael L. Leyva. Survivors include, three daughters, Mary Frances Leyva Gomez, and son-in-law, Danny of Redlands, Rosa Delia Leyva and Olga Leticia Leyva Flores, both of Loma Linda; two sons, Ralph Ignacio Leyva, Jr. and daughter -in-law, Alex of San Jacinto, and Peter Leyva and daughter-in-law, Sandy of Highland; grandchildren, Gabrielle Gomez Singh and Dave Singh, Christopher and Elizabeth Carrillo, Matthew Flores, Marisa Flores, Lauren Flores, Nicholas Leyva, Jordan Leyva, Alejandra Leyva, Erika Leyva and Alonso Leyva; and a great-granddaughter, Sofia Alexandra Singh. She had many loving nephews and nieces and many special friends. A Mass of Celebration of Life will be said on Saturday, September 20, 2008, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 10816 Mountain View Avenue, Loma Linda, with Graveside Services following at Montecito Memorial Park, 3520 E. Washington St., Colton.
