Ruben G. Leyva

RUBEN G. LEYVA, loving husband, father, son, and brother entered this life on September 21, 1959 and went to be with the Lord on May 16, 2007, at the graceful age of 47. He was employed as an Equipment Operator II with Riverside County Flood Control for 20 years. Ruben was a member of the following clubs: the Riverside Eagles #997, American Legion Post 155, Sons of the American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus. He was a life long resident of Colton. He was an alumnus of Wilson Elementary, attended Terrace and Colton Middle Schools, and was a 1978 graduate of Colton High School. He also attended San Bernardino V alley College. He was a proud recipient of the Diamond Players Club at Harrahs Rincon Casino. Ruben was a devoted and loyal Angels Baseball fan, also a current season ticket holder. He is survived by his wife, "Queen Joanne", daughter "Princess Venessa", and outspoken but appreciative son, Ruben, adorable madre Juanita V. Leyva, his brother Robert V. Leyva, sister Melinda Y. Leyva, brother-in-law Howard Winks, Tia Carmen Lopez, godson, Jorge Munoz Jr., nieces, Christine and Suzie Leyva, sister-in-law Cynt hia Gutierrez, nieces Sophia and Celia Gutierrez, and his faithful and energetic dog Hurricane. He was preceded in death by his father, Ysidro P. Leyva. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2007, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Montecito Mortuary in Colton. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 23, 2007 at 1:00 pm at Montecito Mortuary Valley View Chapel. Interment will follow at Montecito Memorial Park.
