Stephanie Lobeski Obituary

STEPHANIE LOBESKI 89, passed away Wednesday, April 28th at her home in San Bernardino. Stephanie was born February 25, 1915 in New York to John and Izabela Lobeski. As a young woman, she played mandolin and performed on the radio with a polish mandolin band in New York. Stephanie moved to California in 1928 with her parents and younger brother Ludwig. Stephanie's father John Lobeski di ed shortly after the move, and her younger sister Johanna was born two months later. Stephanie attended Chaffey College and graduated early from UCLA with a teaching credential. She taught at Parker Dam and in Hawaii until she was old enough to apply for a teaching job in California. Stephanie worked for the San Bernardino School District for 53 years as a teacher and then as a school psychologist. Stephanie was a life long lover of music and art. She frequently attended concerts and visited art galleries with friends and family. She enjoyed gardening and reading. Stephanie was a profound influence in the lives of her friends and family because of her intelligence, her sense of humor, her love of learning, her integrity and her compassion. Stephanie is survived by her sister-in-law Dorothy Lobeski, nephews John Brewer of Fresno, Louie Lobeski of Redding, nieces Joanne Lobeski-Snyder of Redding, Stephanie Lobeski-Eatmon of Irvine, two great-nieces and one great-nephew. A service will be held June 4th at 1 0:00 o'clock at Our Lady of The Assumption Catholic Church, located at 796 W. 48th Street in San Bernardino.
