Adeline Llewellyn passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021.
Adeline was born July 28, 1933, in Mahanoy City, the sixth of six children to Ottavio and Domenica (Siliquini) Angelozzi, whom immigrated to this country from the province of Ascoli Piceno in Italy.
Adeline, also known as Angie, married her childhood sweetheart, Jack, on Oct. 3, 1953. They were together for a total of 72 years - 68 years of marriage in addition to their four years of dating in high school. They moved to West Reading in 1957, where they raised four children.
Adeline worked several part-time jobs as shoe saleswoman at Boscov's, and later as switchboard operator at both Boscov's and John Wanamakers.
Her greatest and proudest moments, however, were as wife, mother and grandmother, aka Nonni.
Adeline was a devout Catholic who took her faith very seriously, never missing Mass on Sundays and Holy Days.
In addition to her faith, she placed a top priority on family. She rarely missed her children's and grandchildren's high school and college sporting events and other important occasions. She was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Phillies and college basketball, her "Dukies" in particular. Adeline had a penchant for chocolate, hot fudge sundaes were her favorite. Those who knew Adeline will always remember her straightforward, tell it like it is, no-nonsense manner. Family and friends were delighted by her refreshingly honest and funny demeanor. She will forever be remembered as a sweet, caring and overall wonderful woman.
Adeline was predeceased by her siblings, Vera, Louise, Mary, Joseph and Dominic.
Adeline is survived by her husband, Jack; her children, Barry (Sinking Spring), Jack (Lutz, Fla.), Lisa (wife of Stephen Joyce, Royersford) and Gemma (wife of Michael Smith, Spring Twp.);nine grandchildren, Nolan, Ryan, Matthew, Connor, Jackson, Sophia, Spencer, Charlotte and Chase; nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Francis Home in Shillington. A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, at Kuhn Funeral Home in West Reading. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, at Sacred Heart Church in West Reading, with burial to follow in Gethsemane Cemetery.
