Anthony V. Dranginis, 62, of Cumbola, fell asleep in the Lord Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Nov. 8, 1958, in Pottsville. He was the son of the late Anna and Vincent Dranginis.
Tony (as commonly referred) loved to hunt, fish, tend to the land, work with his hands and take daily walks with his son, Thomas. You would often find him in the late evening with his truck on, the windows down and the radio up sipping a beer to a hard day's worth of work with his loved ones. Tony was a strong man with a strong belief in the Roman Catholic faith of Sacred Heart, now merged to Holy Family of New Philadelphia. Humility was the focus of his teaching. We must have a humble heart to not only serve the Lord but each other equally. As such, Tony would always drop whatever he would be doing to tend to the need of others.
Anthony worked for Plumbers and Pipefitters, Local 524, Scranton, since 1980.
Anthony is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Joan, and three sons, the Rev. Father Vincent Dranginis and his wife, Christyn, Thomas Dranginis and Michael Dranginis, along with his companion, Sienna. He is also survived by two sisters, Roseann Grady, wife of Robert Grady, and Lisa Dranginis; mother-in-law, Joan Subulak; sister and brother-in-law, Terry and Gary Schane; nieces, Kady Schane, Amy Seigfried, wife of Jim Seigfried, Kelly Dranginis; nephews, Cody Schane and William Whalen; great-nephews, Gauge and Carter, and great-nieces, Mallory and Lilly, as well as several cousins.
There will be a viewing following COVID restrictions from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 5, and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, New Philadelphia, by the Rev. Ronald J. Minner, as celebrant. The burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Philadelphia. All funeral arrangements will be handled by Thomas J. Bartashus Funeral Home in New Philadelphia.

Dear Joan and family,
I am so sad to hear of the loss of Tony.
We met through the PF Local 524 when I served as the Bus Rep and we became good friends. He was a big supporter of what I was doing as BA .I wished all the union members would have had the personality of Tony.He always had a gentile demeanor and it was a pleasure to know him,not only as a union brother but as a friend. He will be missed and you have my deepest sympathy.May he rest in peace.
