It is with deep sorrow we mourn the passing of Anthony L. LaScala Sr., 84, of Ephrata, formerly of Stowe on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024.
Tony was born in Pottsville to the late Anthony G. and Helen A. (Hart) LaScala and was the devoted husband to Carol F. (Poper) LaScala for 36 years.
Tony was an avid sportsman and enjoyed watching the Phillies, Eagles, Villanova and the 76ers. He was a member of many social rooms in the Pottstown and Stowe area, where he played cards and shot darts. He retired with over 45 years of service to the US Postal Service as a stamp distribution clerk in the Southeastern office. Tony enjoyed extensive travel and cruising with his wife Carol to Europe, Alaska, Caribbean, Hawaii and the Panama Canal.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine A. LaScala and a brother, Francis P. LaScala.
Surviving with his wife, is his son, Louis F. LaScala (Amelia) and his grandson, Theodore F. LaScala; his sister, Mary Ann Dragna; a daughter, Lisa M. Kuneck (Craig); three sons, Vincent J., Nicholas R. (Christina) and Tony (Donna) LaScala; three grandsons and three great-grandchildren.
At Tony's request, a private graveside service will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery, with Father Paul J. Borowski C.Ss.R. as celebrant.
