Barbara L. Bunner, 75, of Pitman, passed away Jan. 7, 2024.
She was born Feb. 21, 1948, in Dearborn, Mich., a daughter of the late Frances Edward Wright and Ruth Mae Waters.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Alan Bunner, whom she married on Aug. 7, 1976.
She is survived by her brother, Robert (Barbara) Wright, of Peoria, Ariz.; daughters, Cynthia (Scott) Zemerick, of Worthington, W.Va., and Christine (Mike) Thomas, of Dillsburg, Pa.; son, Michael (Meghan) Bunner, of Levittown, Pa.; and grandchildren, Kayleigh Zemerick, Sarah Zemerick, Joseph Bruce Thomas and Baby Bunner (due April 2024).
Barbara worked at Ford Vet Hospital, Hazel Park Race Course and Tanglewood Farms and Bunners Arabians, which was a family-owned horse business for breeding, showing and training.
Barb was a Methodist, and she belonged to the Arabian Horse Association and the Michigan Arabian Association. She enjoyed going to horse events, reading, music and going to family events.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at Harmer Funeral Home, Shinnston W.Va. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at the funeral home, with Pastor Sabrina Haught officiating. Interment will follow in Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
