Barbara D. Kies, 80, formerly of Reading, passed away at 2 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.
She was the wife of the late Robert Kies.
Born in Buffalo, New York, Mrs. Kies was a daughter of the late George and Margaret (Chapman) Robison. She was an accountant for Lehigh County Housing Authority, Emmaus, for 26 years, retiring in 2008.
Mrs. Kies was preceded in death by her daughter, Eva Robertson; brother, Gerry Dennis Robison, of Orwigsburg; and her sister, Carol Ann McCloskey, of Minersville.
Mrs. Kies is survived by her son, Alan McClure, of Schuylkill Haven, and Hagibh Robertson, of Sinking Spring; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her stepdaughters, Barbara Dorney, of Emmaus, and Donna Wells, of Orlando, Fla.; her stepson, Robert Kies, of Mahanoy City.
Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home, 444 N. Ninth St., Reading, is in charge of arrangements, and online condolences may be made at www.whelanschwartz.com.
