Benjamin Hoenich Obituary

Benjamin F. Hoenich Sr., 84, of Minersville, died Monday at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

Born in Minersville, Jan. 9, 1922, he was a son of the late Clarence and Mary Kemmery Hoenich.

He served in the Army during World War II.

He was employed as a press operator at ALCOA, until he retired.

He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, life member of Rescue Fire Company, Minersville American Legion and ALCOA Retirement Association.

He was the husband of the late Esther Ashfield Hoenich.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda Leonard, Cressona; two sons, Benjamin Hoenich Jr., Reamstown, and David Hoenich, Duncott; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Hoenich officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home, Minersville, and 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Friday in Zion Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Mount Peace Cemetery, Branch Township.
