Bessie Mae Hook

Bessie Mae Hook, also known as Patricia "Patsy" Hook, 52, of Lehighton, died June 2 at Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton.

Born in Orangeburg, S.C., June 16, 1962, she was a daughter of the late Willie Pete Hook and Roseanna Stokes Hook.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Devern Vaughan and Alice Hook.

Bessie is survived by sons, James Snowell, Orwigsburg, and Joseph Hook, Lehighton; daughters, Tahisha Hook, Fountain Hill, Ly-Asia Hightower, Minersville, and Chandra Muldowney, Minersville; sisters, Maryann Stokes, New York, Barb Stokes, New York, and Willie Ann Muldowney, Pottsville; and brothers, James Stokes, New York, and Bo Pete Hook, New Orleans, La. She is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A religious service will be held at noon Tuesday at James H. Evans Funeral Home Inc., Saint Clair, with the Rev. Archie Moore officiating. Interment will be in Queen of the Universe Cemetery, Pottsville. Friends are invited to call from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the funeral home. There are no calling hours Monday. Arrangements are by James H. Evans Funeral Home Inc.
