Blake Broadhurst Obituary

Blake Broadhurst, 21, of Orwigsburg, entered the gates of eternity to his Heavenly Father after a very short but valiant bout with Burkitt's Lymphoma on Monday at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Blake will be remembered for his love for Jesus and care for others, his kindness and generous heart, his bigger-than-life antics, his comical facial expressions, his bravery and courage during life's adversities, his laughter and quirky jokes, his love of family and friends, his one liners and movie quotes, his love of Taco Bell and anything spicy, his tall tales through exaggerations, his nicknames he gave to others, and so much more. Blake was well loved by all who knew him and he will be remembered.

He was an employee at the Turkey Hill in Blandon. He loved his job, his co-workers and was looking forward to continuing with the business.

He was preceded in death by his Aunt Leah Hill, Pine Grove, and infant cousin, Graydon Broadhurst, Woodsboro, Md.

In addition to his parents, Preston and Karen Broadhurst, Blake is survived by his older brother, Cameron Broadhurst and his wife, Natalie, New Ringgold, younger siblings, Allison, Raya, Myles, Talia Broadhurst, and a foster sister, all at home. He is also survived by his grandparents, Wayne and Dianne Broadhurst, Detour, Md., Ronald and Meredith Hill, Pine Grove, Pa., his birth parents, Travis and Tracey, Fleetwood, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and a great-grandmother, all whom loved him dearly.

A Celebration of Blake's life will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kimmels Church, 179 Pine Creek Drive, Orwigsburg, with Jonathan Hikes officiating. The celebration will be followed by a potluck picnic. Please join us in remembering Blake by making donations, in lieu of flowers, to Kimmels Church earmarked Operation Christmas Child. In the months to come we'll be doing a packing party in Blake's honor as this organization was very near and dear to him. Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Orwigsburg, is honored to be serving the family.

We are saddened by your passing but we are rejoicing that we will spent eternity with you. We have good memories of you and eating beans, drinking pickle juice and have contests eating hot peppers. You were a wonderful roller skater and in line hockey player. We loved you! We miss you too.

We miss our son very deeply think about him every single day and remember the good times we didn't want him to go but we didn't want him in pain either it's been two weeks since we've lost him and the pain has not subsided at all he was a wonderful great caring son he would do anything for anybody we miss him so much but I know he's watching down over us and protecting us we love you son forever and always your in our hearts and soul I don't think this pain of losing you will ever go away. Life can be so unfair sometimes. You were taken way too soon Blake, and will be greatly missed! I know you're smiling down on us all. I only knew Blake as a customer at his store, but he was always a friendly young man. Although I did not know he was a Christian, I now know that I was drawn by his sweet, gentle spirit. The world has lost a precious soul. My condolences to his families.
