Brieze Bess McCabe

Brieze Bess McCabe, 17, of Kulpmont, formerly of Pottsville, passed away Monday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street.

Born in Pottsville on April 7, 2001, she was a daughter of Corey Michael McCabe and Ashley Ann Freitas and Lisa Marie Geist and Archie Myles Moore.

Brieze attended Pottsville and Mount Carmel schools and worked at the Old Mill at Knoebels Grove, Elysburg.

While Brieze lived a short 17 years here on Earth, she has had a tremendous impact on many. Her laugh was contagious and her smile lightened up a room. She loved to cook and listen to music and enjoyed singing and dancing. Brieze was in love with her son, Cabrian, and often was called "Bird" or "Sweezy." While Brieze may have struggled, she was brave and courageous and will be sadly missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Gary Geist, and her paternal grandfather, Arthur Samuels.

In addition to her parents, Brieze is survived by her boyfriend, Dashawn Coward; her son, Cabrian Myles Coward; sister, Kori McCabe; brother, Tavian McCabe; twin sister, Bianca McCabe; sister, Makiyah McCabe; maternal grandmother, Mary Zarko and her husband, Ziggy; paternal grandmother, Cheryl McCabe Carter; maternal great-grandmothers, Fae Geist and Patricia Barrett Weaver; niece, Ameiyah Grace McCabe.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, 208 Pike St., Port Carbon, at 1 p.m. June 18, with her father, Corey, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
