Catherine Collucci Obituary

Catherine Mary Collucci, 66, passed away Thursday in Cape Cod Hospital.

Formerly Cathy Riotto, she was born in Pottsville, June 17, 1941.

Cathy married John Collucci on Oct. 6, 1963. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Cape Cod to start their own family.

Studying to be a pastry chef, Cathy went on to be one of the first women graduates of the Culinary Institute of America in 1963.

Cathy was a devout Catholic, spreading the love of our Lord to everyone she touched.

She spent most of her time doting over her grandchildren and enjoyed cooking for family gatherings where all her children, family, and friends felt welcomed and loved. Cathy also cherished spending time in the garden with her grandchildren and anyone else she could get to dig in the dirt.

She is survived by her husband of more than 46 years, John; her sons, Jack and his wife, Trish, Rocco, Tony and his wife, Alana, and Jimmy and his wife, Theresa; seven grandchildren, Katie, Vicki, Alisha, Nicole, Dominic, Vincent and Rocky-Joe; sisters, Rose and Marie; a brother, Dominic.

A visitation service will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at John-Lawrence Funeral Home, Marstons Mills. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Church, Hyannis. Donations in her memory may be made to Children's Hospital Boston-Children's Hospital Trust, 1 Autumn St., No. 731, Boston, MA 02215-5301.

May God bless you, Mom, and keep you close to His heart.

Uncle John,Jack,Rocco,Tony & Jimmy:

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I will miss her a great deal. I wish I could be there with you to share your sorrow. We had some great times together. Take comfort in the knowledge that she is in a better place with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as well as with her mother, father, brother and sisters. They are probably already all together remembering all of the good times we have shared. I love you all and miss you.
God Bless

Our thoughts are with you all during this difficult time. Cathy was an inspiration to us all. let us never forget those pushes down the laundry chute, to watching you play cards with our parents & those unforgettable pizza making nights. Our greatest joy was knowing you not only as kids, but the smile you gave to us adults. We will miss you, but always hold you close in memory. Religious recreation at the jail, and the smile that you gave when you saw us will forever be in my heart. WE LOVE YOU FOREVER.
We promise to look after all your boys, just keep a close eye on us. I wonder whose job will tougher. REST IN PEACE. LOVE YOU KATIE AND JILL

Dear Alana and Tony,

Sorry to hear of Catherine Mary's passing. I met her once at her home and she was a doll-I spent about about an hour with her discussing financail planning and it was immediately apparent that she was a very kind soul-and quick with a smile. I will be thinking of your entire family during this difficult time.Stay positve, Bob Bothfeld

Prayerful condolences to the Collucci family. I had helped at Our Lady of Victory Church where Cathy prepared amazing meals for the priests. I enjoyed her laughter and spirit as well as her food. May she rest in peace.

Dear Jack, Rocco, and family, my deepest sympathy on the passing of your mother. I remember when I would stop by for lunch at your diner , your mother and father would often be there. They were always surrounded by family and friends, and the laughter was almost non-stop. It felt more like the Collucci family kitchen and not your average diner. You guys were very lucky to have such a wonderful lady as your mother, as she was a very lucky to be surrounded by close family like you. Remember, we are NOT humans that are here on a spiritual journey, we are spirits here on a human journey ... May God bless Mom and may God bless you...

Sincerely, Buddy Berka
