David L. Anspach Sr., 62, of Schultz Road, Pine Grove, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020, at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
Born Sept. 10, 1958, in Pottsville, he was a son of the late William and Elsie Schaeffer Anspach.
David was a 1976 graduate of Pine Grove Area High School and was formerly employed as an extrusion machine operator at Cressona Aluminum/ALCOA, Cressona.
David's greatest joy in life was his family. He especially loved being a "Pappy" and spending time with his grandchildren. He was their "biggest fan" and cheered them on at all of their sporting events. He also enjoyed taking them for rides around his yard on his John Deere tractor. David loved the Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State and was an avid Dale Earnhart, NASCAR and dirt track racing fan.
David is survived by his son, David Anspach Jr. and wife, Dustie, of Tremont; his daughter, Heather Bellows and husband, Michael, of Lititz; his longtime companion of 26 years and fiancee, Patricia Wolfe; his sister, Jackie Shadle and husband, Dennis Sr., of Pine Grove; his nephew, Dennis Shadle Jr. and wife, Lori, of Pine Grove; his honorary daughter, Pamela Wolfe, of Pine Grove; his honorary son, Jeff Wolfe, of Pine Grove; 10 grandchildren, Braden and Hailey Bellows, Dan and Deeadra Gray, Rachel Bonawitz, Kimberly Tow, Aidon Kemfort, Riley Cillo, Micah and Brooklynn Brown; six great-grandchildren, Remmington, Margaret, Kaylee, Dylan, Novaleigh and Ricky.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, at St. Paul's Reformed Cemetery, Ravine, with the Rev. Brian Beissel officiating. There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, at H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to Penn State Heart and Vascular Insititute, c/o University Development, P.O. Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033, in his memory. We want to extend our sincere sympathies to the entire family, especially Heather, Michael, Braden, and Hailey. We knew Dave for a relatively short time, but found him to be a kind and generous man who truly loved his family. He will be missed.
