Father Coleman- we never had to wonder what you thought !!! ... and for that I am forever grateful.
We met because he was our Principal at Marian Catholic while I attended in the 70's. He was one good man and very devout and devoted priest.
He came all the way to Immaculata one year to serve as our Retreat Master and many told me how much they appreciated his candor and prayerfulness.
He was a good friend to our family in good and bad times. He came to parties and funerals all the same. Many will miss him- his strength and striking smile, his unmatched wit & humor as well as his straight shooting conversation.
There was a great place waiting for him. Hoping he continues to stay close to us and to all who knew and loved him as son, brother, cousin, uncle, friend and priest.
My deepest condolences to his loved ones...may our memories sustain us!
God bless you Father- and thank you!

I have a number of fond memories regarding Father Coleman while I was a student at Cardinal Brennan, but one that will remain was on graduation day. As I was involved with the music program at the school I never sat with my class - always with the band. On graduation night, each student was handed his or her diploma, given a handshake and sent on their way. It was my turn, and Father began engaging me in conversation, saying "So you finally got to sit with the class. How does it feel?". He held up the commencement and we just stood there talking! He was a most charming gentleman and a fine priest. My deepest sympathies to the entire Coleman family.

I just learned of the death of Father Coleman. Unfortunately, we never met although we were distant cousins. My grandfather's mother was a Coleman. His name was Michael Coleman Ryan, born 1854 and died in 1930. He was a Medical Doctor who practiced in the New Philadelphia area and later married and moved to Coaldale in Schuylkill County. It is moving to read such fine words from those who knew Fr, Coleman. He will be surely missed.

Mrs.Coleman and family, my prayers are with you all at this sad time, God needed another angel and he took Father Ed,home to be with him.Father will surely be missed he was awesome and loved by many. I know as the daughter of the late Mrs. Kathryn Strauss who taught Father in Holy Family School, we got to know each other, he would say to me when I would come back to Tuscarora, "Oh it is Kit's daughter Jeanie is back in town, she is making her rounds just like the stations of the cross one by one, and we would laugh, I would say you are right Father and I am starting with you, and ask him how he was. He was very special and I truly loved him and he was loved by my dear Mother, she often spoke of him when she had him in school to me. Now he is in heaven free from pain, and with his family and friends around God's table of peace.
Peace to you all and you all will be in my prayers.

To the Coleman Family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time. We just loved Father, he was there for us when we lost our grandmother,he married us and he was always there even if you just needed someone to talk to. He always liked to joke around with all of us and he had a wonderful story that he always told my husband when we saw him about the prodigal son. He really touched all of our lives and he will be greatly missed by alot of people. Our prayers are with you at this very sad time.

I first got to know Father Coleman in May of 1982. My grandfather, John Gleason from Branchdale, passed away and Father Coleman spent every available minute with my grandmother and our family during those difficult days. He was a fantastic man and very good close friend. He made such an impression on our family, he attended the wedding of my sister the following year and I had Father Ed perform the ceremony for my wedding in 1984 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Tremont and he Baptized both my daughter in the coming years. I had much respect for him. We would joke around saying, "Most families have a family doctor, we have a family priest." That is what he meant to us. He would give you advice, as a priest, as a friend or as just "One of the Boys". My wife, who is not Catholic, liked him very much and held much respect for him also. He will be greatly missed.

It was a snowy cold Sunday morning after Mass at St. Berthas Church early December 2005 when I met Father Coleman for the first time. We had a warm general conversation about the Church and myself in my early days as a youth attending Mass there Sundays in the 50s and early 60s. Even though we were the same age, I don't know if we ever met before but I often thought of our little get-to-gether that cold snowy morning. Before we departed, he gave me a rosary and a Church Calendar. The calendar I had used all year long in my kitchen in Las Vegas, Nv. I thought of Father Coleman whenever I went to that calendar. Father Coleman, I'm glad we crossed paths that morning. You made an impression on me and I will always keep you in my thoughts and prayers. God keep you. My deepest sympathy to your family ad friends.

Be Still
Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.
I was a student at CBHS when Father Coleman was principal. I will never forget him!
