Harry O. Meyers, 80, of Pottsville, passed away Sunday evening in his residence surrounded by his family.
Born Feb. 27, 1942, in Pottsville, he was a son of Max and Lena (Klitzner) Meyers.
Harry was a 1960 graduate of Pottsville Area High School and a member of Oheb Zedeck Synagogue.
He was a sales consultant for the former Sears and Roebuck, Radio Shack and Boscov's.
Harry was well known and very active in the Pottsville Community and was a member of the following organizations for 50 plus years: Masonic Pulaski Lodge 216, Travelers Protective Association and Yorkville Hose Company. He was also a member of Tall Cedars, NRA, Schuylkill County Fire Police and Schuylkill CB Radio Club.
In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by a brother, Joel M. Meyers, who died in 1972.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan Yeager, wife of Kirk, of Pottsville; stepchildren, Catherine Farrell, of England, Mark Farrell, of Texas, and Tammy Farrell, of Arizona; grandchildren, Carter Yeager, Christopher, Cole and Casen Farrell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Harry's memory be sent to the Masonic Pulaski Lodge 216, 311 Fleet St., Pottsville, PA 17901 or Oheb Zedeck Synagogue, 2400 West End Ave., Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will follow at Oheb Zedeck Cemetery, Pottsville. Lord-Bixler Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of the arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at lordbixler.com.
