Jane Metzinger Obituary
Jane A. Metzinger, 76, of Big Mine Run, Ashland, passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born April 24, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Bertha (Wetzel) and Abner Cappel.
She worked for Ashland Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine for 14 years, the former St. Catherine's Medical Center in Ashland, and the former K-Mart in Frackville.
Jane enjoyed cooking, coloring, gardening, family vacations and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Harry (Gene) Metzinger, on July 2, 2020; a sister, Lois Metzinger; and four brothers, Laris, Richard, Russel and James Cappel.
Jane is survived by two sons, Gene Metzinger, wife of Jennifer, of Gordon, and Eric Metzinger, fiancé of Jennifer Kimmel, of Ashland; two grandchildren, Seth Metzinger and Reese Metzinger. She is also survived by her brother, Edwin Cappel, Sellersville; many nieces and nephews; and her furry friend, Tom Tom.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. The Rev. Dana Heckman-Beil is officiating. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, is in charge of arrangements. Heizenroth Family Funeral Homes, Ashland, Elysburg and Mount Carmel, PA.
