Jean Wysocki Obituary

Jean E. "Lindy" Wysocki, 80, of 214 N. Gilbert St., Shenandoah, died Tuesday at Hazleton General Hospital.

Born in Shenandoah, June 13, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Wesley F. Lindenmuth and Helen M. Ecker.

She was a 1948 graduate of J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah, and a graduate of Reading School of Nursing. Jean was also the reunion chairwoman for her graduating class.

Jean was employed as a licensed practical nurse at Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading, Rest Haven nursing home, Schuylkill Haven, and Shenandoah Manor, Shenandoah.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Shenandoah, and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Posts 370 and 792.

Surviving are her loving husband of 38 years, Edward Wysocki; two sons, Edward and his wife, Sally Wysocki, Colorado, and Kenneth Wysocki, New Jersey; two daughters, Linda and her husband, Neil Johnson, Norman, Okla., and Susan and her husband, Jack Smelscer, Ligionier; a brother, Franklin P. and his wife, Lisa Laudeman, Rehoboth Beach, Del.; two sisters, Mary Jane and her husband, William Speakman, and Karen D. and her husband, David Schearer, all of Reading; her cousin, friend and companion, Betty Whalen; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc., 40 N. Jardin St., Shenandoah. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday by Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor of Annunciation BVM Roman Catholic Church, Shenandoah. Interment will follow Mass at Annunciation BVM Cemetery Chapel, Shenandoah Heights. Friends may call from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc. has charge of arrangements.
