Jeremy John "J.J." Costy

Jeremy John "J.J." Costy, 35, of Pottsville, passed away Saturday in Port Carbon.

Born in Pottsville, on Jan. 7, 1983, he was the son of David P. Costy and his girlfriend, Stacy Salaki, and Lisa Quirk.

Jeremy was a graduate of Nativity BVM High School, Class of 2001. He worked as a machine operator at Schlouch Construction in Blandon.

Jeremy loved to go hunting, fishing, shooting, and being with his dogs.

In addition to his parents, Jeremy is survived by his wife of 10 years, Bobbi Jo (Hancock) Costy; a step-son, Stevie; a step-daughter, Hayley; three sisters, Jacqueline Costy, Gina Costy and her boyfriend, Jevin DiCello, and Carina Costy and her boyfriend, Alex Johnson; a brother-in-law, James Hancock and his wife, Tori; maternal grandparents, Jack and Jean Quirk; paternal grandparents, Paul and Joanne Costy; three nephews, Logan, Levi and Cooper; a niece, Thalya; father-in-law, Keith Hancock and his wife, JoAnne; mother-in-law, JoAnne Jones and her partner, Dawn Heimbach; Stacey Salaki's daughter, Avalon Kimmel; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, 208 Pike St., Port Carbon, with the Rev. Christopher Zelonis officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be held private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to help with Jeremy's funeral costs to the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, 208 Pike Street, Port Carbon, PA 17965.
