Joan Motley Olstein, 83, of Kinnelon, N.J., passed away Jan. 8, 2021.
Born in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Florence and Edward Motley.
Joan attended Pottsville Catholic High School. Joan worked for Freight Forwarder's Institute, Washington, D.C., where she met her beloved husband, Elliot. Joan and Elliot moved to New York City, and a few years later, they bought a house in Kinnelon, N.J., where they resided for over 40 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Caldwell College. Joan was proud of her Pottsville heritage. She was an avid hiker and tennis player. Most of all she was deeply devoted to her family and friends.
Joan was preceded in her death by her husband, Elliot.
She is survived by her sister, Cathy Schleupner; her son, Erik; daughter-in-law, Kathy; son, Jon; daughter-in-law, Laura; her grandchildren, Ryan, Kevon, Hunter, Bronwyn and Shawn.
A memorial service will be held sometime in the future. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Joan M. Olstein to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
