Joseph Shelcusky Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Adams Funeral Home - Woodstown on Mar. 17, 2026.
Joseph Shelcusky Jr., age 91, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 13, 2026. Born in Minersville, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Joseph Shelcusky Sr. and Helen Shelcusky. He later made his home in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, where he began raising his family and built a life rooted in hard work, faith, and community. In his later years, he moved to New Jersey, where he continued to share his warmth and generosity with those around him.

Joseph was a proud 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, a dedicated member of the Rotary Club of Pottsville, and an active participant in the Men of Malvern. His commitment to service and fellowship left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Affectionately known as "Mr. Fix-It" or "Joe Fix-It," Joseph had a remarkable ability to repair just about anything. As he often joked, he could fix everything but a broken heart.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife Kathleen Shelcusky née Armbruster; his children David (Debbie) Shelcusky, Linda Casey, Suzanne (Joseph) Wollyung, Darren (Tina) Shelcusky and Brenadette (Gregg) Valentine; his twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents Joseph Sr. and Helen Shelcusky, his beloved son-in-law Joseph Casey and beloved grandson Joseph Shelcusky.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests Mass cards in Joseph's memory.

Services will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at The Catholic Community of the Holy Spirit, 17 Earlington Ave, Mullica Hill, NJ 08062. Viewing will begin at 10AM leading to Mass at 11AM. Burial will be private with family at St. Patrick's Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville, PA.
