Joseph Zukosky Obituary

Joseph D. "Pop" Zukosky Jr., 81, of Bath, formerly of Pottsville, entered eternal life April 30, 2020 at home from his long battle with heart disease, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Lorraine R. (Berkheiser) Zukosky.

Born Jan. 20, 1939, in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Joseph D. Sr. and Margaret E. (Neiswinder) Zukosky.

He honorably served his country in the Navy. He worked for Atlas Powder, Tamaqua, and Precision Air, Schuylkill County, for over 40 years as an over-the-road tractor-trailer driver. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Pop, as most friends and family referred to him, loved his New England Patriots, Phillies, playing cards, assembling jigsaw puzzles and shooting pool and darts. He loved his family and will be greatly missed by all, including his beloved Silky Terrier, "Buddy."

He was predeceased by his brother, James; daughter, Roseanne; grandsons, David, Nickolas and Troy.

Pop is survived by his five children, Joseph III, Kathy, Michael, Crystal and Ralph; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Joe was the sweetest man. I loved hearing about his dog, his son and the interesting times he had driving truck. Our family will miss him dearly.

Will remember Joes love for his Buddy and his preference for meatloaf. He had a great sense of humor and loved playing poker on his phone. We took him to a Penn State football game which he always yearned to do.
Glad we got to know him. Sympathies to his family.
