June H. Seltzer

June H. Seltzer, 85, of Barnesville, passed away Thursday at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Center, Coaldale.

Born in Frackville, June 30, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Thomas C. and Susanne Shapbel Phillips, but was raised, from age one, by her loving aunt and uncle, William and Ida Moyer.

She graduated with the first class of the Standard Evening High School of Pottsville in 1965. June worked as a sales representative for both WMBT and WPPA radio stations and was retired from Sears, Roebuck & Co. in the Schuylkill Mall.

She was a longtime member of Christ United Church of Christ, Rush Township, and also held memberships in Puritan Chapter 126 Order of the Eastern Star, where she was twice Past Worthy Matron, Schuylkill Valley Past Matrons Association, Mahanoy City Woman's Club and the former Frackville Elks Ladies Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Stephen J. Koval; two sisters, Doris Kelley and Charlotte Mullin; a brother, William Moyer; a stillborn daughter.

June is survived by her husband of 51 years, Franklin L. Seltzer; five daughters, Peggy, wife of Dennis Crim, Bethlehem, Carla, wife of Andrew Gnall, Concord, Calif., Cindy Hamilton and her companion, Robert Russo, Auburn, Kathleen, wife of Lance Edwards, Mesa, Ariz., and Joyce, wife of David Dougherty, Downington; three sons, Stephen Koval and his wife, Mary, Mahanoy City. Franklin L. Seltzer Jr. and his wife, Linsey, Numidia, and Eric Seltzer and his wife, Roxanne, Frackville; a stepdaughter, Lynn, wife of Gary Severson, Highlands Ranch, Colo. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at Christ United Church of Christ, Quakake, Rush Township, beginning with an Eastern Star service at 10:30 a.m Saturday, followed by a church service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Shoobridge officiating. Friends are invited to call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday. Interment will be in the German Protestant Cemetery, Mahanoy Township. The family would prefer donations in June's name to the Eastern PA Arthritis Foundation, 111 S. Independence Mall East, Suite 500, Philadelphia, PA 19106, or the Good Samaritan Fund of Christ UCC, 21 Elm Ave., Barnesville, PA 18214. Jane Clifford Ritz Funeral Home, Franklin R.
