Karena Schmidt Obituary

Karena Schmidt, 25, of Mount Carmel, passed away Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital.

Born in New York City, N.Y., on June 27, 1996, she was a daughter of Jason and Jennifer (Eng) Schmidt, Montgomery.

She worked at the Walmart Distribution Center.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her son, Josiah Mark Martin Jr., and companion, Sean McDonald, Mount Carmel; six sisters, Alexa Fasold, Kimberly Schmidt, Kelly Schmidt, Angelica Schmidt, Alaina Schmidt, and Ava Lynn Schmidt; six brothers, Tyler Schmidt, Jonathan Schmidt, Daniel Schmidt, Stephen Schmidt, Evan Schmidt, and Nicholas Schmidt; stepbrother, Ryan Eng.

Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, Dec. 10, from the Lavelle Church of the Nazarene, Lavelle, with the Rev. Jeremy Smallwood officiating. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Mount Carmel. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the church.
