Lyle F. Clark, 87, of Hegins, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022, at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on Thursday, Feb. 28, 1935, in Hegins Twp., a son of the late Allen Clark and the late Verona (Dietrich) Clark.
He was a graduate of the former Hegins Twp. High School and received his Municipal Police Certification from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy.
Lyle was the Hegins Twp. police chief, then worked for the Susquehanna Twp. Police Department, then was a security guard for Kocher Coal, Valley View, and then retired from the Schuylkill County Sheriff's Office.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View.
He was also a member of F&AM Lodge 797, Valley View, and the Fraternal Order of Police.
His wife, Marie E. (Hepler) Clark, passed away in 2020. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and by a daughter, Donna Marie Melocheck.
He is survived by a son, Dennis L. Clark and his wife, Judy, of Pitman; a stepdaughter, Kim K. Klouser, of Harrisburg; a stepson, Kent K. Klouser, of Beech Creek; two grandchildren; one step grandchild; six great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Clark, of Valley View, and Robert Clark, of Hegins; a sister, Barbara Miller, of Hegins; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with the Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins. Memorial contributions can be made to Hillside SPCA, P.O.
