Margaret Holzer, 92, formerly of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Saturday morning while a resident of Seton Manor Nursing Home.
Born Oct. 31, 1930, in Saint Clair, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth Paulin Charnak.
Peggy attended Cressona schools throughout her life.
She was a member of St. Michael's Orthodox Church in Saint Clair.
Peggy worked for JCPenney for 20 years before retiring in 1994.
She was a founding member of the Madison Park Ladies Auxiliary in Old Bridge, N.J.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, who passed away in 2009. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Bingaman; brother, Michael Charnak; and sisters, Dorothy Charnak, Anna Colihan and Mary Close.
She is survived by her son, Gerald R. Holzer, husband to Donna, of Philadelphia. She is also survived by her sister, Rita Wolfe, along with five granddaughters, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her friend and caregiver, Richard Paoni.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Grabowski Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Peggy will be laid to rest with her husband on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Memories and condolences can be shared at www.grabowskifuneralhome.com.
