Martha Semar Obituary

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Martha F. Semar, loving wife of Daniel E. Semar, mother of Daniel (Kathy), David (Jennifer) and Ruth Sinclair (Robert) and grandmother of Lindsey, Jordan, Brett and Jacob. Just a few short weeks from her 89th birthday, she left this life for paradise.

Martha was a daughter of Joseph N. and Dorothy (Fisher) Foster, Mill Creek, Pa.

Martha was a 1951 graduate of Pottsville High School.

She and Dan were married Aug. 28, 1954, at the Church of the Holy Apostles, Saint Clair.

She was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church, Schuylkill Haven.

Martha was initiated into the Cressona Chapter No. 357 Order of the Eastern Star in 1952, where she held the office of worthy matron at three different times as well as two grand representative offices, district deputy and four committee member positions in PA Grand Chapter.

Martha enjoyed Friday night pinochle card club, camping, fishing (as long as she didn't have to bait the hook) and boating. She and Dan traveled throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.

Martha will be remembered at 11 a.m. June 11 during the Sunday service at Saint James Episcopal Church in Schuylkill Haven.
