Michael Harakel Obituary
Born in Frackville, Michael was a son of the late Michael Sr. and Mabel Wagner Harakel.
Michael was the husband of Billie Jean Schuetrumpf Harakel, to whom he married 35 years ago on May 15, 1982.
He was a 1965 graduate of the former Frackville High School. Michael worked for Poly Plastics, Delano, for 29 years, retiring in 2011.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Frackville, and attended Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, Tamaqua.
Michael was an avid hunter and fisherman; lifelong Yankees fan; and liked to dance "to the oldies."
Surviving are his wife, Billie Jean; daughter, Lisa Geronimo, and her husband, Marcello, Tamaqua; son, Michael Harakel III, Tamaqua; step-granddaughter, Gabriella Geronimo; twin sister, Mary Lou Acker and her husband, David, Coatesville; nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, with the Rev. Kevin Roberts officiating. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua. Calling Hours will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Sign the online guest registry at www.zgfuneralhome.com. Condolences to Mickey's Family. I know he will be missed. I grew up with Mickey and couldn't have asked for a better friend a lot of great memories and I will never forget him. RIP MICKEY God Bless You and your Family in this very sad time.
