Michael G. Maley, 61, of Pottsville, died peacefully Sunday at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, with his family by his side.
He was born Aug. 27, 1962, in Pottsville, a son of the late Elvin J. and Dorothy E. Truscott Maley.
He was a 1980 graduate of Minersville Area High School and attended Stevens Trade School in Lancaster.
Mike was employed by Honeywell, Mar Lin, for 34 years.
Mike was an avid hunter with his two German shorthaired pointers, Maggie and Toby, as well as a fisherman, golfer and coach for his son's sports. He enjoyed time with friends and family and also liked to travel to Myrtle Beach for vacations with family friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Kosmisky.
Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Linda Barton Maley; three sons, Michael Maley and wife, Michele, Seltzer, Brian Maley and his wife, Jessica, Minersville, and Alex Maley, Myrtle Beach; four grandchildren, Morgan, Melanie, Lucas and Lennox; his sister, Colleen Barnhart and her husband, Robert, Llewellyn; brothers, Elvin Maley and his companion, Betsy Mooney, Palo Alto, and Robert Maley, Tremont; nieces and nephews.
Services celebrating the life of Mike will be held at 8 p.m. Friday from James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, with the Rev. Chris Rothharpt officiating. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 5 p.m. until the time of services. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Mike be made to a charity of your choice.
