Nelma Lute Obituary
Nelma Lute, 88, of 874 High Road, Ashland, passed away Dec. 4, 2022, at her home.
Born May 12, 1934, in Dornsife, she was a daughter of the late John R. and Viola (Schreffler) Clark.
She was a 1951 graduate of Mahanoy High School.
On June 27, 1953, in Helfenstein, she married Donald Lute, who passed away.
She was a member of Church of Christ in Christian Union, Mabel.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Lute and his wife, Kayleen, of Trevorton Road, and Bryan Lute, at home; two daughters, Wanda Lute, at home, and Debra Bendas and her husband, Robert, of Ranshaw; grandchildren, Thomas Lute Jr., Scott Lute, Robert Bendas III, Cierra Bendas and Dustin Bendas; great-grandchildren, Olivia Lute, Isabella Lute, William Lute, Maya Lute and Marceline Bendas.
Religious services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at Stephen A. Chowka Funeral Home, 114 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin. Interment will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park in Stonington. A viewing will be held from 9 until 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Stephen A. Chowka Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
