Nicholas Antonelli Obituary
Born in Mahanoy City, he was a son of the late Pantalone and Dunetta Sanza Antonelli. He attended Forestville and Cass Township schools.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater.
He was employed by the former Mercury Coal Co. as an anthracite miner, and later worked in the maintenance department at Indiantown Gap Military Reservation.
He was a member of the former St. Barbara Church, Minersville.
The last of his siblings, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Delena "Dillie" Marcovitch, Mary Walters and Rose Motuk; two brothers, Anthony Antonelli and Charles Antonelli.
Surviving are a daughter, Rosemary Guidas (Andrew), Deer Lake; two grandsons, Andrew Guidas Jr., Frazer, and Robert Guidas, Branchdale; two great-granddaughters, Gabriella Guidas and Gianna Guidas; nieces and nephews, including Rayne Slackus, Steve and Stacie Slackus, and Stephanie Seid-ers, his longtime caretakers.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. Wednesday and from 6 to 9:15 a.m. Thursday at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury St., Minersville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 539 Sunbury St., Minersville. Interment with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Visit www.dutcavich.com.

So sorry to hear of Nick's passing. It's an end of an era for Forestville. I remember many a day visiting Dilly's with my Dad, Robert Frantz and Uncle Horace on a Saturday with Nick and a number of other local miners having a beer under the apple tree off of Dilly's back porch. My guess is they are all having a visit together. Rosemary please accept my sincere condolences.
