Peter Miernicki Obituary

Peter Miernicki, 62, of Frackville, passed away Tuesday at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.

Born in Frackville, Oct. 5, 1955, he was a son of the late Andrew and Cecelia Miernicki.

He worked as a production supervisor for Exxon and Tredegar in Minersville, and also owned and operated Miernicki Tax Center in Frackville.

Peter loved fishing and enjoyed caring for his beagles; he also enjoyed driving and going on road trips. He was a great cook, but above all else, Peter was hands-down the world's biggest Philadelphia Phillies fan.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bob, Larry and Joe, and two sisters, Andrea and Theresa.

Surviving are his wife, Helen McGinley Miernicki; two sons, Douglas Miernicki, Kulpmont, and Peter Miernicki Jr., Philadelphia; a sister, Dorothy Gressa; three grandchildren, Eric, Ethan and Evan; nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph the Worker Parish, St. Ann's Church, 49 N. Line St., Frackville, PA 17931, officiated by Father Brian Miller. Interment will follow services in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peter's memory to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc. have been entrusted with the arrangements.
