Shawn M. McGinley, 42, of Lewisburg, went to eternal rest on Nov. 24 at his residence.
Born in Pottsville, he was a son of Joseph O. and Rita Ritro McGinley, Ashland.
Shawn was a graduate of North Schuylkill High School and Kutztown University. He was employed as a manager for AIDS Resource, Williamsport.
Shawn was the brightest light in every room, with a contagious laugh that will forever ring in the ears of his loved ones. To say that Shawn loved baseball is an understatement. He played Little League, Teener League, high school and Legion baseball. He then continued as a Little League umpire for the Ashland and Minersville leagues.
Shawn was also an excellent cook, could speak fluently in movie quotes and had a love/hate relationship with Philadelphia sports teams. He cherished his annual fishing trips with his dad and his regular kitchen-talks with his mom. His brothers were his best friends, and he loved playing with his nephews and nieces more than anything. He enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife, Brittany, but also loved relaxing with his sheepdog and a good documentary. The world is truly a lesser place without him.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Brittany Ketchem; three brothers, Joseph M. and his wife, Stefanie McGinley, Mark O. McGinley and Bryan D. McGinley and his companion, Heather Strackbein, all of Ashland. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family prefers contributions in Shawn's name be made to the Ashland Little League, 27 S.
