Shirley P. Fesig, 92, of Valley View, passed away Monday, July 5, 2021, at Providence Place, Pine Grove.
She was born Sunday, Aug. 12, 1928, in Valley View, a daughter of the late Homer C. Matter and the late Iva E. (Schade) Matter.
She was a graduate of the former Hegins Township High School.
Shirley was a seamstress in area garment factories prior to her retirement.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View.
Shirley enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Her husband, Eugene G. Fesig, to whom she was married for 70 years, passed away Feb. 24, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Thelma Matter, Arlene Savidge and Elva Kocher; two brothers, Paul Matter and Warren Matter.
She is survived by a daughter, Karen L. Schwalm and her husband, Daniel, of Valley View; two grandsons, Matthew D. Schwalm and his wife, Ashley, of Dillsburg, and Adam M. Schwalm and his wife, Tabitha, of Valley View; two great-grandsons, Jacob Schwalm and Jeremiah Schwalm, both of Valley View; four great-granddaughters, Kelly Schwalm, of Valley View, Naomi Schwalm, of Dillsburg, Josie Schwalm, of Dillsburg and Eliana Schwalm, of Dillsburg; nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View. Burial will be made in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Valley View. Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 153, Valley View, PA 17983. Condolences can be left for the family at www.buffingtonreed.com.
