Susan Pflueger Watt, 88, of Clearwater, Florida, peacefully passed away Feb. 27, 2022, surrounded by family.
Susan Watt was born Dec. 13, 1933, in Williamstown, to Mildred and Richard Pflueger. Soon after her birth, the family relocated to Schuylkill Haven, where she grew up. After graduating from Schuylkill Haven Area High School in 1951, she continued her education, graduating from the Katharine Gibbs School in Boston, Mass., in June 1953.
After college, Susan met and married Donald R. Watt of Coraopolis, Pa. Upon completion of Don's service in the Navy, the couple moved back to Schuylkill Haven to join the family business, Pflueger Insurance Co., where they both served the community until their retirement. Shortly after retiring, the couple relocated to Clearwater, Fla., where they remained for the rest of their lives.
In retirement, Susan enjoyed entertaining family and friends at the beach and was involved with numerous clubs within the community. Susan was an enthusiastic traveler who enjoyed cruising and was an avid bridge player known well throughout numerous clubs in the area.
Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, in 1986.
She is survived by her three children, Donald R. Watt Jr. (Beth Czarnecki, fiancée), Carolyn Watt Gilroy (Kevin) and Dorothy Watt Cuff (Joseph); eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Susan is also survived by her sisters, Joy Houghton and Gayle Hamilton, in addition to William Ritchie, her loving companion for the past 25 years.
A private "Celebration of Life" for the family will be held at the Union Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven, Pa.
