George Hucks Obituary
Hucks
George Nathan Hucks, 83, of Florence, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021.
Mr. Hucks was born in Marion Co., SC a son of the late Joseph Wilbert Hucks and Effie Elwood Cribb Hucks. He was a US Army veteran and retired from Cameron and Barkley as an electrical wholesale salesman. He was a 51 year member of Greenwood Baptist Church and a member of the Eddie Holt Sunday School Class. After retirement he spent his time gardening, doing yard work, and raising goats and animals. He enjoyed his chickens, guineas, and his faithful companion, his dog, Bogie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Joseph Cleo Hucks, Alvin Hudson Hucks, and Lynn M. Hucks, and a sister, Mary Doris Skipper.
Surviving are his wife, Estelene Gibson Hucks of Florence; sons, Stephen Stewart (Andrea) Hucks of Pamplico and Jeffrey Mark (Jackie) Hucks of King, NC; grandchildren, Haylee Hucks and Kaysie Hucks, both of Pamplico, and Alyssa Hucks of King, NC; brother, Don Hucks of Florence, and a sister, Faye White of Marion.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greenwood Baptist Church Building Fund, 2401 Claussen Road, Florence, SC 29505.
The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 am Monday, January 18, 2021 at Greenwood Baptist Church with the service to be held at 11:00 am in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
