, age 86 died Thursday, February 17, 2022. A graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 21st at Darlington Memory Gardens, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will greet friends following the service.

Born on August 28, 1935 in New Orleans, Louisiana, James was the son of the late Luther Wyman Cook and Eunice Horton Cook. He served his country in the United States Army and then worked as a timber agent for Darlington Veneer until his retirement.He enjoyed fishing, working outdoors and spending time with his family and grandchildren

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Annie Beatrice (Adams) Cook; his daughter, Anne Cook of Charlotte, his son and daughter-in-law, Wyman and Tracy Cook of Columbia; grandchildren, Summer Cook, Charity Cook, and Andrew Cook; brother, Parry Cook; and a sister, Peggy Singletary.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Cook.

Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org; or to a local Humane Society.
