Pullie
Latta - Lester Hugh Pullie, 86, passed away at the Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC, May 27, 2023.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, June 1, 2023, at the Latta Baptist Church with Pastor Rob Pierce officiating. Interment will be in Catfish Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service. Kannaday Funeral Home in Latta is assisting the family.
Lester was born in Latta, SC, June 8, 1936, the son of the late Willie M. Pullie and Sallie Cook Pullie. He was a member of Latta Baptist Church, Baptist Men's Sunday School Class, and also served in many other capacities over many years. Lester served his country in the National Guard. He was a Mason and a member of Dalco Masonic Lodge #160 AFM since 1975. Since his retirement from Dupont as a Lab Manager, he worked part time at Kannaday Funeral Home for many years.
Mr. Pullie is survived by his son, Stephen Lester Pullie (Carole) of Lexington, SC; brothers, George Melton Pullie and Larry Pullie, both of Latta, SC; sisters, Lois P. Woodle, Lelia P. Smith, both of Latta, SC, and Kay P. Williams of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Connor Stephen Pullie and MariKatherine Elizabeth Pullie of Lexington, SC; and several nieces and nephews.
Lester was predeceased by his wife, Janice A. Pullie; son, David Hugh Pullie; brothers, James J. Pullie and Robert Pullie; sisters, Elsie Walters and Evelyn Brumbles.
