Dr. Angie Dufner taught The History of the English Language (which basically was linguistics) my senior year. It was a tough, demanding, fascinating class that I often referred to once out of college and started on my career of newspaper reporter and then free lance writer. She was one of the best teachers I ever had and I had many good ones. I am so grateful we had the opportunity of studying under her.

Angie was my teacher and my good friend, from my student days in the late 50's/early 60's and until the present. Dave and I spent many, many happy days at Angie and Elaine's home. We will miss her. Our sympathies to Sister Delores and the rest of the family.

How I admired Angie Dufner. I learned from her how to be a compassionate and human teacher, how a classroom could be fun and have high standards. Prayers for her family.

I held Professor Dufner up in such high esteem!! I loved her energy and her absolute, no negotiation on the writing standards for her class - strong verbs and NO FORM OF BE. We would be docked a full grade in our senior classes if we used is, are, were...such good lessons that have stuck with me! Rest in Peace Professor Dufner.

I have good memories of Dr. Dufner during my four years as an English major at St Bens in the mid 1980s... tough yet very human. It's a great combination and she served me well.

I was in Dr Dufner's London study abroad program in 1990. It was an amazing experience and I was lucky to spend it with her and Sister Dolores. I also lived in Richarda my freshman year where she lived. She was a heart-felt leader. The world will miss her. I'm grateful to have known her.

Sad to hear. For my first "work-study" at St. Ben's I was assigned as a student worker for Ms Dufner in 1970-71. I enjoyed working with her, learned a lot, and knew I needed to do a good job the first time or I would be doing it again. When I saw her a few years ago, I was so pleased to receive a big hug with the words, "of course, I remember you." May she now feast at the eternal banquet. Condolences to S. Delores and other family.
