Arnold Bauer Obituary

Arnold "Arnie" J. Bauer, 82

St. Cloud

Jan. 17, 1934 - March 8, 2016

Funeral services will be 10AM Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, St. Cloud for Arnold "Arnie" J. Bauer, age 82 of St. Cloud who passed away peacefully on Tuesday at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by his family.  Rev. Bruce Timm will officiate and burial will be in North Star Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4-7PM Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud and also one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Arnie was born January 17, 1934 in Farming Township to Alois and Matha (Hamann) Bauer.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1954 - 1956.  Arnie married Joanne Lucken on September 14, 1957 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Farming.  The couple raised six children and enjoyed every moment they spent together as a family.  As Arnie lived his life with the moto "family first."  Joanne passed away on February 13, 1996.  Arnie worked at the VA Health Care System in St. Cloud starting as a nurse's aid caring for his fellow veterans and later working in the garage as a mechanic and driver until his retirement in 1991.  He later married Sandra "Sandy" Willard on June 3, 2000 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in St. Cloud.  Arnie is a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, St. Joseph American Legion #328 and past member of the Waite Park American Legion #428.  He walked strongly in his faith and supported his family in Christ as a pillar at Redeemer Lutheran Church.  Arnie had an enormous heart and was not shy about helping others, as long as they did things his way.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing cards, trips to the casino with his daughters, and watching the MN Twins.  Most importantly, Arnie's entire family meant the world to him; more than words could ever express.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra "Sandy"; children, Linda Bertelson of Sauk Rapids, Tom (Linda) Bauer of Sauk Rapids, Debbie (Gary) Gans of St. Cloud,  Dennis Bauer of Rockville, Dawna (Scott) Edelbrock of St. Cloud, Paula (Brent) Jacobs of Clear Lake; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Adeline Sabrowsky of Melrose; step children, Randy (Dana) Willard of Montrose, Billy (Dawn) Willard of Hudson, WI, Kim (Gordy) Schlangen of Rockville, and Larry (Laura) Willard of St. Cloud; 13 step grandchildren; and 4 step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joanne on February 13, 1996; sister, Helen Spicer and granddaughter, Angela Gans.
